A Ret TZ Gel is for external use only. You should always use it exactly as your doctor has told you. The affected area should be clean and dry before application. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not use more than you need as it will not clear your condition faster and some side effects may be increased. If your condition goes on for longer than four weeks or gets worse at any time, let your doctor know. You can help this medication work better by keeping the affected areas clean.

Common side effects include itching, skin redness, irritation, dry skin, skin burn, and skin peeling at the site of application. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Please consult your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Avoid direct contact of the cream or ointment with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water and seek immediate medical attention.

Avoid sun exposure and cover the treated areas with clothing or use a sunscreen before stepping out in the sun. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding as it may lead to birth defects.

A Ret TZ Gel is a form of vitamin A. It works by slowing down the rapid growth of skin cells, and blocks certain substances which cause inflammation (redness and swelling) on skin. This reduces scaling and thickening of the skin in psoriasis and clears acne.

A thin film of the A Ret TZ Gel should be applied once daily in the evening. Care should be taken to apply it only to areas of affected skin, avoid application to healthy skin or in skin folds. Treatment is limited to 10% body surface area (approximately equivalent to the total skin area of one arm).

Externally used medications and cosmetics that have a strong drying effect should be avoided. Weather extremes, such as wind or cold, may be more irritating to patients using A Ret TZ Gel. Avoid excessive exposure to UV rays (sun, solarium, PUVA therapy, or UVB therapy) during the treatment. Use sunscreen and protective clothing during A Ret TZ Gel therapy.

A Ret TZ Gel is not advised to be taken during pregnancy. An effective birth control should be used for a woman of child bearing potential. However, in order to conceive, consult your doctor about a time period after which pregnancy can be contemplated after using A Ret TZ Gel. In case you become pregnant while using this medicine, stop using it and contact your doctor immediately as this product may cause birth defects.

Q. Can I use cosmetics while using A Ret TZ Gel?

Cosmetics and skin care products can be used but preferably 1 hour before or after using A Ret TZ Gel. This is done so that the cosmetics/skin care products are allowed to pass slowly through the skin and absorbed completely. Avoid using products which have excessive drying effects.

In Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a condition where the skin cells in the body grow too quickly and form scales and dry patches. They can grow anywhere, but most appear on the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back. A Ret TZ Gel reduces the scaly, itchy patches along with other symptoms of inflammation such as redness, swelling or irritation which may develop on the different parts of the body. It also stops the overgrowth and thickening of the skin. Use it for as long as it is prescribed to get the most benefit. It may take several months to become fully effective. You should avoid drinking alcohol while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

In Acne
