AC-Breathe 100 Capsule

AC-Breathe 100 Capsule is used to treat and prevent symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (a lung disorder in which airflow to the lung is blocked). It helps relax the muscles of the air passages, thus widening them and making them easier to breathe.

AC-Breathe 100 Capsule can be taken with the food in the evening. Take it at the same time every day to get the most benefit. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you take it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Do not miss even a single dose. If missed, take it as soon as you remember, or skip the missed dose and continue with regular dosing if it’s almost time for the next dose. It does not work immediately or prevent the already-started breathing trouble; hence, always carry your medical inhaler for an emergency.

The most common side effects of this medicine include abdominal discomfort, abdominal distension, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and heartburn. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Generally, it is advised not to consume alcohol or do not smoke while on treatment.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney, liver, or heart-related disease. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking, as many may make this medicine less effective or change its effect. Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. AC-Breathe 100 Capsule is to be taken with food.

AC-Breathe 100 Capsule is a mucolytic and bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and also thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to breathe.

Q: What if you forget to take AC-Breathe Capsule?
A: If you miss a dose of AC-Breathe 100 Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

You have been prescribed AC-Breathe 100 Capsule for prevention and treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Your doctor may take regular blood test to monitor potassium level and the level of this medicine in your body.

Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.

AC-Breathe 100 Capsule should be avoided in patients who are allergic to ambroxol, AC-Breathe 100 Capsule, or theophylline. Along with that, patients suffering from low blood pressure, irregular heart beats or rhythm or history of heart attack, liver disease or kidney disorder should avoid taking AC-Breathe 100 Capsule.

Q. How should AC-Breathe 100 Capsule be taken?

AC-Breathe 100 Capsule should be taken strictly as advised by the doctor. To avoid an upset stomach it should be taken with food.

Q. Is it okay to take furosemide along with AC-Breathe 100 Capsule?

One should take proper caution if you are taking furosemide along with AC-Breathe 100 Capsule. This is because the combined use of these medicines may decrease the levels of potassium. Hence, regular monitoring of potassium levels is required.

Q. Does birth control pills have any effect on AC-Breathe 100 Capsule?

If you are taking birth control pills, dose of AC-Breathe 100 Capsule need to be reduced as birth control pills may interfere with clearance of AC-Breathe 100 Capsule, increasing its levels and chances of side effects.

Q. Is AC-Breathe 100 Capsule the same as theophylline?

AC-Breathe 100 Capsule comprises of theophylline-7 acetate and ambroxol which makes it effective in making the mucus more fluid and clearing the airways easily, thereby making breathing easier. This effect of AC-Breathe 100 Capsule works as an added advantage over theophylline. Moreover, it also reduces the need for other medicine used to treat asthma, like salbutamol.
