Acivir Eye Ointment is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Wash your hands before and after applying the medicine. Use it as long as your doctor has prescribed and do not stop using the medicine even if you get better.

It may cause a stinging sensation and eye redness immediately following the application. However, these side effects are temporary and usually subside on their own. Inform your doctor if they persist for a longer duration. Do not wear contact lenses while using it.

Treatment of Eye infections by Herpes simplex virus

This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.

Acivir Eye Ointment is an antiviral medication which treats eye infections caused by Herpes simplex virus. It works by preventing the multiplication of the virus on the surface of your eyeball (cornea). This stops the production of new viruses and clears up your eye infection.

If you miss a dose of Acivir Eye Ointment, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Acivir Eye Ointment helps treat eye infections caused by Herpes simplex virus.

Place it inside the lower eyelid five times a day. Do not apply at nighttime.

Continue the tretment for at least 3 days after healing is complete.

It may temporarily cause itching and stinging sensation immediately following application. Inform your doctor if this persists.

Do not wear contact lenses while using Acivir Eye Ointment.

Acivir Eye Ointment helps relieve symptoms of eye infections caused by Herpes simplex virus such as redness, swelling, itching and watering of eyes. This medicine kills the infection causing virus and prevents the further multiplication of the virus too. This will make it easier for you to go about your daily activities. Use it as prescribed to get the most benefit. If you see no improvement even after a week, talk to your doctor.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
