Admatop 2.5 Injection is used in the treatment of ovarian cancer. It shows its working by stopping or slowing down the growth of cancer cells.

Admatop 2.5 Injection is given as an IV infusion into vein by a qualified medical professional. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

The most common side effects of this medicine include tiredness, vomiting, weakness, nausea, and abdominal pain. This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells (decrease red blood and white blood cells) in your blood, thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Inform your doctor if you notice fever, chills, sore throat, and severe diarrhea. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with heart, liver, and blood uric acid levels.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy.

Admatop 2.5 Injection is an anti-cancer medication. It works by suppressing the activity of an enzyme (topoisomerase I) involved in DNA multiplication of the cancer cells. This slows the growth of cancer cells and eventually kills them.

It is given by a drip into a vein (intravenous infusion).

Do not drive or operate machinery as Admatop 2.5 Injection may cause tiredness, drowsiness or weakness.

Use a reliable contraceptive method to prevent pregnancy while you are taking this medicine.

Your doctor may get regular blood tests done to monitor your blood cells during treatment with this medicine.

Inform your doctor immediately if you notice any signs of infection such as fever, sore throat, rash or severe diarrhea.

Generally Admatop 2.5 Injection treatment is for 4 cycles of 21 day each, patient is given Admatop 2.5 Injection for first 5 days of each cycle.

In Ovarian cancer

Ovarian cancer is a cancer that begins in the female organs that produce eggs (ovaries). This type of cancer is usually detected very late and can be fatal too. It usually spreads to the pelvis and stomach. Admatop 2.5 Injection kills or stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells. It is an effective medicine but has some side effects that may be bothersome. Consult your doctor to know about ways that can help you avoid these side effects.

Admatop 2.5 Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding:UNSAFE

Admatop 2.5 Injection is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving:UNSAFE

Admatop 2.5 Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.Admatop 2.5 Injection can make you feel tired and this may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney:CAUTION

Admatop 2.5 Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Admatop 2.5 Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Admatop 2.5 Injection is not recommended in patients with end-stage kidney disease.

Liver:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Admatop 2.5 Injection is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Admatop 2.5 Injection is recommended.
