Altopraz-O Tablet is a combination of two medicines which is used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting. It is used only when prescribed by a doctor. This medicine works by controlling the acidity and altering the chemicals in the brain that trigger nausea or vomiting.

Altopraz-O Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Take it on an empty stomach, but try taking it at a fixed time each day. Remember you should not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor. In case you vomit within one hour of taking a dose, then take another dose and avoid heavy meals throughout the day. Before taking this medicine, it is better to inform your doctor if you have any liver disease as the dose of your medicine may need adjustment. Your doctor may regularly monitor your liver enzymes, especially when the medicine is prescribed for a long time.It is a well-tolerated and safe medicine and has a very low incidence of any harmful effects. But, it may cause certain side effects like constipation, stomach pain, fatigue, headache, flatulence, and flushing of skin. However, these are temporary and usually resolve on their own. Please consult your doctor if these do not subside or bother you.This medicine may cause diarrhea, so it is better to take plenty of fluids while taking this medicine as it may help prevent dehydration. However, it is better to consult your doctor if you get watery diarrhea with fever or stomach pain that does not go away. Nausea

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Altopraz-O Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

Altopraz-O Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Pantoprazole and Ondansetron. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in the relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Ondansetron is an antiemetic (anti-nausea medicine). It inhibits the action of serotonin, a chemical messenger that can trigger nausea and vomiting.

If you miss a dose of Altopraz-O Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Take it one hour before meal, preferably in the morning.

It is fast-acting and starts working within 30 minutes.

If you vomit within one hour of taking a dose, take another dose.

Avoid heavy meals and sip water regularly while taking this medicine.

Altopraz-O Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving:UNSAFE

Altopraz-O Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Altopraz-O Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Altopraz-O Tablet is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have an underlying kidney disease. Limited information is available in patients taking this medicine for more than one day.

Liver:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Altopraz-O Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Altopraz-O Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
