Alzil-M 10 Tablet

Alzil-M 10 Tablet can be taken with or without food, but you may take it with food to avoid a stomach upset. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the blood. Do not skip any doses, but if you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better and do not stop taking it suddenly.

Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and headache. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness. So, do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated while taking this medicine as this medicine may cause diarrhea.

Before using this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you have ever had heart problems, stomach ulcers, epilepsy or asthma. It may also affect, or be affected by, some other drugs you are using so let your doctor know what these are to be safe. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Alzheimer’s disease

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alzil-M 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Alzil-M 10 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Donepezil and Memantine which treat Alzheimer’s disease. Donepezil is a cholinesterase inhibitor while Memantine is an NMDA inhibitor. Together, they balance the levels of chemical messengers in the brain and help in the transmission of nerve signals.

If you miss a dose of Alzil-M 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Alzil-M 10 Tablet is used for the symptomatic treatment of alzheimer’s disease. It does not cure alzheimer’s, but may help with brain function and doing daily activities.

Monitor your body weight regularly as both Alzil-M 10 Tablet and  alzheimer’s disease can cause weight loss.

Don’t drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.

Inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures as it may raise the chances of seizure if you had them in the past.

It may cause stomach ulcers, specially if you are also taking medications for inflammation or pain. Talk to your doctor if you vomit blood or have black colored stools.

It will make it easier for you to carry out your daily activities and improve your quality of life. Do not stop taking it unless advised by the doctor. It can take several weeks for your symptoms to improve; so keep using the medicine even if you do not think it is working.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
