Amantide Capsule

Amantide Capsule is used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat Parkinson’s disease. It works by increasing the levels of a chemical called dopamine in the brain, which is important for controlling movement.

Amantide Capsule helps in improving muscle control and reducing stiffness by affecting specific brain chemicals. Take Amantide Capsule as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day, to maintain a steady level of the medicine in your body. It can also be used to treat drug-induced movement disorders.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. You should finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. This medication must not be stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor.

Some common side effects of Amantide Capsule include nausea, dizziness, and insomnia (difficulty sleeping). If you experience dizziness, rise slowly and do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.

This medicine may put you at a higher risk of having seizures, so talk to your doctor if you have any history of seizures or if you are taking any medication for seizures. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking this medicine to make sure it is safe for them.

Amantide Capsule may cause blurring of vision or affect mental ability. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.

To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.

Amantide Capsule may put you at a higher risk of having seizures. Talk to your doctor if you have a history of seizures or are taking medication for it.

Inform your doctor if you experience compulsive behaviors like gambling, increased sexual urges, binge eating, or overspending, as Amantide Capsule may affect dopamine levels and cause impulse control issues.

Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor.

Q. Can Amantide Capsule get you high?

The use of Amantide Capsule may cause impulse control disorders in which you may have strong urges to gamble, increased sexual urges, intense urges to spend money, binge eating, and other intense urges. Additionally, there is the inability to control these urges. If such symptoms are experienced, then dose reduction or tapered discontinuation should be considered.

Yes, Amantide Capsule is a dopamine agonist. Dopamine is needed to control movements in the brain. Amantide Capsule works by increasing the amount of dopamine, thereby helping in controlling the movements in Parkinson’s disease.

Yes, Amantide Capsule causes fatigue and sleepiness, which may affect some patients’ ability to drive and operate machinery safely.

Q. Can I take Amantide Capsule any time during the day? Should the dose be taken before meal?

Amantide Capsule can be taken at any time during the day, with or without food. Try to take the medicine at about the same time each day, as directed by your doctor. Taking your medicine at the same time each day will have the best effect. It will also help you remember when to take your medicine.

Q. Is Amantide Capsule used for pain?

Though it is not an approved use, Amantide Capsule is effective in relieving pain related to nerve disorders. Amantide Capsule is a prescription medicine, and you should take it for the relief of pain only if advised by the doctor.

Q. What happens when I stop taking Amantide Capsule?

Do not stop taking this medicine or lower the dose without first checking with your doctor. If required, your doctor will gradually reduce the amount you take each day before stopping it completely. Abruptly stopping Amantide Capsule may result in worsening of Parkinsonism. It may also cause delirium, agitation, delusions, hallucinations, paranoid reactions, stupor, anxiety, depression, or slurred speech.

Q. Can Amantide Capsule cause weight loss?

A decrease in weight and body mass index may occur with continued Amantide Capsule usage. If you have any concerns regarding weight loss, consult your doctor or a nutritionist.

Amantide Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Amantide Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Amantide Capsule is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver:CAUTION

Amantide Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Amantide Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.It may cause a transient increase in liver enzymes.
