Basic Info
Description
Ampilox Kid 125 mg/125 mg Tablet works best on an empty stomach, so try to give it to your child 30 minutes to 1 hour before they eat. However, give it with food if it upsets your child’s stomach. It is generally given three times a day. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor as these depend on the severity of the infection, its type, and your child’s body weight and age. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, repeat the dose when your child feels better. However, do not double the dose if it is the time for the next dose.
Ampilox Kid 125 mg/125 mg Tablet can cause some minor and temporary side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and mild skin rash. These side effects almost always go away on their own. But, in case these side effects persist or become bothersome for your child, report to the doctor without a delay.
Tell your child’s doctor if your child has had any previous episode of allergy, heart problem, blood disorder, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, gastrointestinal problem, skin disorder, and kidney malfunction. Knowledge of your child’s medical history will help the dose make dose alterations and plan your child’s overall treatment.

MOA
Ampilox Kid 125 mg/125 mg Tablet contains two active ingredients: Ampicillin and Dicloxacillin. Ampicillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. Dicloxacillin increases the efficiency of this medicine and helps in treating the infections caused by resistant bacteria. Together, these two medicines not only kill the infection-causing bacteria but also arrest the spread of the infection.
What If
Unless your childโs doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.
Drug Tips
Complete the entire course of antibiotics without stopping the medicine in-between. Sudden withdrawal may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Make sure your child drinks plenty of water if diarrhea occurs as a side effect.
Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions.
Give Ampilox Kid 125 mg/125 mg Tablet to your child only for their current infection. Avoid storing the medicine for future use as it is impossible to judge whether the same medicine would work for any future illnesses.
Stop this medicine and immediately report to your childโs doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
