Asomex-M Tablet PR

You can take Asomex-M Tablet PR with or without food. The dose will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. Try to take it at the same time each day. It’s important to keep taking this medicine until your doctor tells you not to. Even if you feel well, do not stop this medicine on your own because high blood pressure often has no symptoms. If you stop taking it, your condition may get worse. Keeping active with regular exercise, reducing your weight and eating a healthy diet will also help control your blood pressure. Follow your doctor’s advice while taking this medicine.

The most common side effects include fatigue, sleepiness, dizziness, flushing, and headache. Consult your doctor If any of these bother you, or get worse, or won’t go away. 

Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any liver or kidney problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor for advice before taking this medicine. You also need to tell your doctor what other medicines you are taking – especially those used to treat high blood pressure or heart conditions. You should have your blood pressure checked regularly to make sure that this medicine is working properly.

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Asomex-M Tablet PR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Asomex-M Tablet PR is a combination of two medicines: S-Amlodipine and S-Metoprolol Tartrate. S-Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. In high blood pressure, it normalizes the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels to reduce the pressure on them, thereby improving the blood flow in the body. . S-Metoprolol Tartrate is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.

If you miss a dose of Asomex-M Tablet PR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Asomex-M Tablet PR is prescribed to reduce high blood pressure and the risk of future heart attack and stroke.

Avoid getting up too fast from a sitting or lying position, or you may feel dizzy. Get up slowly and steady yourself to prevent a fall.

Monitor your blood pressure regularly after starting treatment, and notify your doctor if it does not reduce.

You will also be advised to monitor your blood sugar level while on treatment with Asomex-M Tablet PR.

Avoid taking painkillers along with this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Lifestyle changes like a low-sodium diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this medicine work better.

In Hypertension (high blood pressure)

You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
