Axoket Drop is usually taken when needed. Use the number of drops as advised by your doctor. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering any other medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. Do not use a bottle if the seal is broken before you open it. Always wash your hands and do not touch the end of the dropper. This could infect your eye. This medicine may require long-term use and can be taken safely for as long as you need it.

The most common side effects of using this medicine are blurred or altered vision, and sometimes pain in the eye. Let your doctor know if you experience these symptoms but they are usually temporary. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires clear vision until you are sure you can do it safely. Consult your doctor if your condition does not improve or if the side effects bother you.

This medicine is not likely to affect or be affected by other medicines you use but tell your doctor if you have ever had glaucoma. Do not use it while wearing soft contact lenses and talk to your doctor if you develop an eye infection while using it.

Dry eyes

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

Axoket Drop is a lubricant. It works similar to natural tears and provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness of the eye.

If you miss a dose of Axoket Drop, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Your doctor has prescribed Axoket Drop to treat dry eye disease.

It stabilizes the natural tear film and maintains necessary lubrication so your eyes don’t get dry and irritated.

May require long-term use.

Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.

Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution of this medicine.

Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.

Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.

Q. What is Axoket Drop?

Axoket Drop belongs to a class of medicines called eye lubricants or artificial tears. It is available as eye drops. It is used to soothe irritation, burning and discomfort of dry eye conditions. One may experience such conditions because of deficient tear production, infrequent blinking, smoke, wind, pollution, extended use of computer screen or television, medical treatment or dry atmospheric conditions. Axoket Drop may also be used to aid insertion of lenses or to make the lenses more comfortable while wearing.

Q. Is Axoket Drop effective?

Axoket Drop is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Axoket Drop too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.

Q. How should Axoket Drop be used?

If you are using it for dry eyes, instil 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed. If you are using it to lubricate soft and rigid gas-permeable lenses, apply 1 to 2 drops to each eye with the lenses on as needed or as directed by your doctor. Blink several times after pouring the drops. Consult your doctor if you are not sure.

Use of Axoket Drop should be avoided in patients who are allergic to Axoket Drop or any of its components. However, if you are not aware of any allergy or if you are using Axoket Drop for the first time, consult your doctor.

Q. What are the side effects of Axoket Drop?

You may experience visual disturbances and eye discharge while using this medicine. Some other side effects of this medicine include redness of the eye, eye irritation, burning and discomfort, eyelid swelling and itching of the eye. If any of these side effects bother you, please consult your doctor.

Q. How should Axoket Drop be stored?

Store at or below 25°C and out of the reach of children. Do not touch the tip of the container to any surface or eye(s), Replace the cap after every use. Remember not to use the eye drops after the expiry date or after 30 days of opening it.

In Dry eyes

Normally your eyes produce enough natural tears to help them move easily and comfortably and to remove dust and other particles. If they do not produce enough tears, they can become dry, red and painful. Dry eyes can be caused by wind, sun, heating, computer use, and some medications. Axoket Drop keeps your eyes lubricated and can relieve any dryness and pain. They will also help protect your eyes from injury and infection.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
