Bavencio Injection is a medicine used for treatment of urinary bladder cancer that has metastasized (spread to other parts) or has reached the advanced stage in adults and children aged above 12 years. It restores those immune responses in the body that stop cancer growth.
Bavencio Injection is given as an injection by a healthcare professional. For it to be effective, complete the course of the medicine and do not discontinue even if you get better until the course is completed.
Some common side effects of this medicine include fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite, and muscle pain amongst others. These are usually mild and go away with time. However, if they persist or get worse, let the doctor know.
Before receiving the medicine, you should let your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any medicine. Also tell your doctor if you have any problems with your heart, kidneys, or liver. Some other medicines may react with this medicine, so let your doctor know of all the medication you are taking. Pregnant or breastfeeding should consult their doctors first before receiving this medicine.

MOA
Bavencio Injection is a type of immunotherapy. It activates the body’s immune system to fight cancer cells. Avelumab targets and blocks a protein (PD-L1) found on the surface of certain immune cells. Blocking PD-L1 activates the immune cells to find and kill cancer cells.

Drug Tips
Do not receive any immunization or vaccination without your doctorโs approval while taking Bavencio Injection.
You may be at risk of infection, so try to avoid crowds or people with colds, and immediately report fever or any other signs of infection to your health care provider.
Inform your doctor immediately if you notice signs or symptoms of skin rash, itchy skin, a rash with tiny spots and bumps, reddening of the skin.
To reduce nausea, take anti-nausea medications as prescribed by your doctor, and eat small, frequent meals.
Use contraceptives, and do not conceive a child (get pregnant) while taking Bavencio Injection. Barrier methods of contraception, such as condoms, are recommended.
Avoid sun exposure. Wear SPF 15 (or higher) sunblock and protective clothing.
Do not drive or use machines after you have received Bavencio Injection since you might feel tired or dizzy.

Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Bavencio Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Bavencio Injection is recommended.

Bavencio Injection is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Bavencio Injection is recommended.
