You can take Biomef TX Tablet at any time of day, with food, but it is best to take it at the same time each day. It should be taken on first day of the periods to get the most benefit. Keep taking it for as long as advised by your doctor.  Take this medicine in the dose and duration advised by the doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Remember to finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Inform your doctor if you do not observe any change in periods even after 3 consecutive periods.

The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, stomach pain, headache, nasal congestion, sinus pain, sinus inflammation, rash, tiredness, and musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain. It may also cause diarrhea, so it is better to take plenty of fluids while taking this medicine as it may help to prevent dehydration. It is advised to consult with your doctor if you do not notice any changes in periods after 3 consecutive periods.

Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any kidney problems or vaginal bleeding disorder. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor for advice before taking this medicine. You also need to tell your doctor what other medicines you are taking. You might be asked for eye check-ups while taking this medicine. It is advised to avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.

Biomef TX Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Tranexamic Acid and Mefenamic Acid. Tranexamic Acid is an anti-fibrinolytic. It works by preventing the breakdown of blood clots to control excessive bleeding during periods. Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

If you miss a dose of Biomef TX Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Biomef TX Tablet helps relieve menstrual pain and abnormally heavy menstrual bleeding.

Your doctor will prescribe the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time necessary to relieve your symptoms.

Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.

Take it on the first day of a heavy period. Taking it before or after will not have any benefit.

Inform your doctor if  there is no improvement in your bleeding after using this medicine for three consecutive menstrual periods.

Inform your doctor if you have a history of kidney or liver disease.

Driving:UNSAFE

Biomef TX Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:CAUTION

Biomef TX Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Biomef TX Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Biomef TX Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Biomef TX Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Biomef TX Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
