Biovac 25mcg Injection is used for active immunization for prevention of typhoid fever caused by certain bacteria called Salmonella typhi (S. Typhi). The vaccine helps to protect the body against typhoid fever that can be caused by S. Typhi.
Biovac 25mcg Injection is administered by a healthcare professional and should not be self-administered. It is generally given at least 2 weeks prior to expected exposure.
Some common side effects of this medicine include tenderness, pain, induration, erythema, muscle pain, headache, nausea, diarrhea, and fever. If these side effects do not go away with time or get worse, let the doctor know. The doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these symptoms.
To make sure the vaccine is safe, before receiving the vaccine, it is important to let the doctor know if you have any other illnesses. Typhoid fever is an infection that spreads through intake of contaminated food and water. Biovac 25mcg Injection is a typhoid vaccine recommended for the prevention of typhoid fever. Biovac 25mcg Injection works by causing the body to produce its own protection (antibodies) against the bacteria. This vaccine is generally recommended for individuals who are traveling to areas where typhoid fever is common. However, while traveling, it is important that you avoid contaminated food or water. Biovac 25mcg Injection is given as an injection into a muscle by a doctor or a nurse, as a single dose, approximately 2 weeks before travelling to such an area where typhoid fever is common.

Biovac 25mcg Injection helps prevent typhoid.
It should be given at least 2 weeks before protection against typhoid fever is required.
Take it in addition to strict food, water and personal hygiene measures to avoid the disease.
It is usually given by injection into the muscle of the upper arm or leg.
It is not recommended for use in infants and children under two years of age.
Protection lasts for around 3 years. Booster injection is required every 3 years to provide continued immunity.
