Biovac Typhoid 25mcg Injection is an active immunizing agent. It is given to prevent typhoid fever caused by certain bacteria called S. Typhi. It is usually administered at least 2 weeks prior to expected exposure to S. Typhi.
Biovac Typhoid 25mcg Injection is administered by a doctor or a nurse. You should not be self-administered this vaccine at home. Biovac Typhoid 25mcg Injection works by causing the body to produce its own protection (antibodies) against the bacteria. This vaccine is generally recommended for individuals who are traveling to areas where typhoid fever is common. However, while traveling, it is important that you avoid contaminated food or water. Biovac Typhoid 25mcg Injection is given as an injection into a muscle by a doctor or a nurse, as a single dose, approximately 2 weeks before travelling to such an area where typhoid fever is common.

Biovac Typhoid 25mcg Injection is used for prevention of typhoid.
It should be given at least 2 weeks before protection against typhoid fever is required.

It is not recommended for use in infants and children under two years of age.
