In Tetanus
Tetanus is a serious bacterial infection that affects the nervous system and causes muscles throughout the body to become stiff and tighten. Boostrix Vaccine helps prevent tetanus infection. It helps the immune system to produce antibodies to fight against tetanus infection. However, it does not provide lifelong protection.
In Diphtheria
Diphtheria is a bacterial infection that causes pain and swelling in the throat. This might cause difficulty in breathing. It might also damage the heart, kidneys and nerves. Boostrix Vaccine gives protection against diphtheria. It is advisable to consult your doctor for complete information regarding vaccination schedules.
In Pertussis
Pertussis (often called whooping cough) is an infection of the airways that can occur at any age but mostly affects infants and young children. Pregnancy:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Boostrix Vaccine is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Boostrix Vaccine is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
It is not known whether Boostrix Vaccine alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Boostrix Vaccine is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Boostrix Vaccine may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

10Drug Tips
Boostrix Vaccine is used for active booster immunization against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis in individuals aged 10 years and older.
You can still receive the Boostrix vaccine if you have a minor cold. In the case of a more severe illness with a fever or any type of infection, wait until complete recovery.
You can apply an ice pack on the injection site if you experience pain and redness.
