Burcut Ointment is a combination of three medicines: Metronidazole, Sucralfate and Povidone Iodine. Metronidazole is an antibiotic. Sucralfate is an anti-ulcer medicine which covers the damaged tissue and protects it against injury to facilitate healing. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic. It slowly releases iodine which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms.

A: If you miss a dose of Burcut Ointment, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Burcut Ointment may take several weeks to show its action. Keep using it as suggested by your doctor.

Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying Burcut Ointment.

Apply it as a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by the infection.

It may cause minor burning, stinging or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.

Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas.

It is advisable not to touch or scratch the infected area as it can worsen the situation.
