Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet

Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet should be taken with food,  but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor’s advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.

The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, headache, dizziness, and low blood pressure. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them.  To overcome dizziness, you must avoid driving or rise slowly from sitting or lying position.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had high blood pressure after birth, or had heart disease. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Your doctor may check blood pressure regularly while taking this medicine.

Treatment of High levels of prolactin

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet is to be taken with food.

Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet works by decreasing the release of prolactin, a hormone that stimulates breast milk production. This stops the production of breast milk in case of stillbirth, abortion or miscarriage.

If you miss a dose of Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet is used to treat conditions such as infertility or abnormal production of breast milk (galactorrhoea) caused due to excess production of a natural hormone called prolactin.

To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.

Do not take Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet if you are breastfeeding.

Take it with or after food to avoid side effects such as nausea or indigestion.

Be cautious while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness.

Regular monitoring of blood pressure may be advised during treatment with Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet.

The other common side effects are drowsiness, nausea, headache, dizziness, vertigo, stomach pain, indigestion, fatigue, and weakness. If any of these side effects bother you, consult your doctor.

Pregnancy:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet is usually not used during breastfeeding because it suppresses lactation.

Driving:UNSAFE

Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:CAUTION

Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cabgolin 0.25 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
