Calcib C Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Calcipotriol and Clobetasol which treat psoriasis. Calcipotriol is a form of vitamin D. Clobetasol is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.
Q: What if you forget to take Calcib C Ointment?
A: If you miss a dose of Calcib C Ointment, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Calcib C Ointment is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with psoriasis.
It is advisable to apply it once a day. For best effect, leave it on during the day if you have applied it in the morning, or overnight if you have used it in the evening.
Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
Don’t cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
If you are using a moisturizer along with this preparation, apply the moisturizer first. Then wait 10-15 minutes before applying Calcib C Ointment.
Do not apply it on open wounds and cuts.
Your skin may become more sensitive to sunlight than normal while you are using Calcib C Ointment. Try to avoid sitting out in the sun and do not use sunbeds.
Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.
