Calcit SG Capsule is the active form of vitamin D. It increases the levels of vitamin D in your blood which in turn raises calcium levels in the blood by helping in the absorption of more calcium from your intestine. This way it helps in the treatment of calcium deficiency and metabolic bone disease.

Calcit SG Capsule is also beneficial in increasing muscle mass, helps in the prevention and treatment of hypocalcemia, as well as helps in reducing fatigue and muscular pains. It boosts immunity and increases body resistance against infection.

This medicine is to be taken in the dosage as advised by the doctor. Consult your doctor if you plan to take any other form of vitamin D along with this medicine.

This medicine is generally tolerated with little or no side effects. In patients with kidney disease patients, dose adjustment may be required. Discussed with your doctor. Avoid or limit the consumption of alcohol while on treatment with this medicine.

Along with taking Calcit SG Capsule, maintain a healthy lifestyle, include calcium-rich food in your diet, exercise (regular weight-bearing exercise) with your doctor’s advice, and take proper measures to reduce the risk of falls.

It is recommended that you take Calcit SG Capsule at bedtime, preferably at least 2 hours after dinner. You may lie down immediately after taking it if you wish.

If you take antacids (medicines to relieve heartburn) or medicines containing calcium you should take them at least 2 hours after taking Calcit SG Capsule to avoid interference.

Calcit SG Capsule is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Calcit SG Capsule is recommended.
