Caltive Capsule is the active form of vitamin D. It increases the levels of vitamin D in your blood which in turn raises calcium levels in the blood by helping in the absorption of more calcium from your intestine. This way it helps in the treatment of calcium deficiency and metabolic bone disease.

Caltive Capsule is also beneficial in increasing muscle mass, helps in the prevention and treatment of hypocalcemia, as well as helps in reducing fatigue and muscular pains. It boosts immunity and increases body resistance against infection.

This medicine is to be taken in the dosage as advised by the doctor. Consult your doctor if you plan to take any other form of vitamin D along with this medicine.

This medicine is generally tolerated with little or no side effects. In patients with kidney disease patients, dose adjustment may be required. Discussed with your doctor. Avoid or limit the consumption of alcohol while on treatment with this medicine.

Calcitriol (a vitamin D analogs) works by helping the body to use more of the calcium found in foods or supplements and regulating the body’s production of parathyroid hormone.

Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, or if you have ever had kidney stones.

Inform your doctor if you are taking an iron supplement, as the absorption rate might be affected.

Along with taking Caltive Capsule, maintain a healthy lifestyle, include calcium-rich food in your diet, exercise (regular weight-bearing exercise) with your doctor’s advice, and take proper measures to reduce the risk of falls.

It is recommended that you take Caltive Capsule at bedtime, preferably at least 2 hours after dinner. You may lie down immediately after taking it if you wish.

If you take antacids (medicines to relieve heartburn) or medicines containing calcium you should take them at least 2 hours after taking Caltive Capsule to avoid interference.

Driving:SAFE

Caltive Capsule does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney:CAUTION

Caltive Capsule should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Caltive Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.However, regular monitoring of phosphate levels may be advised while you are taking this medicine.

Liver:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Caltive Capsule is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Caltive Capsule is recommended.
