Cystofit Tablet is a combination of medicines used in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). It regulates ovulation and menstrual cycles (periods) in PCOS. It enhances the body’s response to insulin, and maintains hormonal balance. This improves your overall health.

Cystofit Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is to be taken with food, preferably at the same time each day. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It may cause side effects like taste change, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). However, these are temporary and usually subside on their own. Please consult your doctor in case these do not resolve or persist for a longer duration.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver or heart problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Your doctor will check your kidney function tests before starting treatment with it. Avoid excessive alcohol intake while taking it as this may increase the risk of developing some side effects.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cystofit Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Cystofit Tablet is a combination of five medicines: Myo-Inositol, D-Chiro Inositol, Metformin, L-Methyl Folate Calcium and Methylcobalamin. These medicines work by enhancing body’s response to insulin and decreasing high levels of a harmful substance (homocysteine). This effect improves hormone balance and leads to more regular ovulation and menstrual cycles (periods) in PCOS.

Q: What if you forget to take Cystofit Tablet?
A: If you miss a dose of Cystofit Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

An upset stomach with nausea and diarrhea may occur initially. Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) may occur when taken along with antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or on delaying/skipping a meal. Carry a sugar source for immediate relief.

Women with Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) have hormonal imbalance that is responsible for irregular menstrual cycles (periods), excessive hair growth and acne. Cystofit Tablet is a combination medicine that helps in regulating hormonal imbalance as well as periods in females. It helps the body to utilise the hormone insulin and also regulates menstrual cycles. Take it as prescribed by the doctor. Do not skip any doses and follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get maximum benefit.

Pregnancy:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Cystofit Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Information regarding the use of Cystofit Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Please consult your doctor.

Driving:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

It is not known whether Cystofit Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney:CAUTION

Cystofit Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cystofit Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Cystofit Tablet is, however, not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advisable while you are taking this medicine.

Liver:CAUTION

Cystofit Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cystofit Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Cystofit Tablet is generally started with low dose in patients with mild to moderate liver disease and its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
