Dapacan M 5mg/1000mg Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Dapagliflozin and Metformin. Dapagliflozin works by removing excess sugar (glucose) from your body through urine. Metformin works by lowering sugar production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar.

Q: What if you forget to take Dapacan M Tablet?
A: If you miss a dose of Dapacan M 5mg/1000mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Breast feeding:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Dapacan M 5mg/1000mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving:CAUTION

Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is too low or too high. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:CAUTION

Dapacan M 5mg/1000mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Dapacan M 5mg/1000mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:CAUTION

Dapacan M 5mg/1000mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Dapacan M 5mg/1000mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

You have been prescribed this combination medicine as it can control blood sugar better than metformin alone.

It also reduces the risk of heart attack, heart failure or other cardiovascular events.

You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) along with Dapacan M 5mg/1000mg Tablet.

Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach.

Dapacan M 5mg/1000mg Tablet can cause urinary tract infection. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and practice good genital hygiene.

It may cause your body to lose too much fluid (dehydration) or you to urinate more often. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.

It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal.

Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxious feeling.
