Using of Desferal 500mg Injection may cause few side effects such as flushing (a sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), rash, decreased blood pressure and abdominal pain. If the side effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor.

Desferal 500mg Injection traps and removes excess iron which is then excreted mainly in the stools. This reduces the risk of organ damage.

If you miss a dose of Desferal 500mg Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Desferal 500mg Injection is used to reduce excess iron from the body.

Desferal 500mg Injection may cause your urine to turn a red/brown color. This is the iron being removed from your body and is nothing for you to worry about as it is quite harmless.

If you are taking any antacid, take them 2 hours before or after Desferal 500mg Injection.

Desferal 500mg Injection may cause dizziness. It is advisable not to drive or operate any machinery until you feel normal again.

Inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney disease.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

In Iron overload

Iron overload, as the name suggests, means excess of iron in the human body. Too much iron can cause organ damage, which can lead to conditions such as cancer, irregular heartbeat and cirrhosis of the liver. Breast feeding:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Desferal 500mg Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving:UNSAFE

Desferal 500mg Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.If you experience dizziness or other central nervous disturbances, or impairment of vision with the use of Desferal 500mg Injection then you should refrain from driving a vehicle.

Kidney:CAUTION

Desferal 500mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Desferal 500mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Desferal 500mg Injection is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
