Drogyna Tablet will be prescribed to you depending on the condition you are being treated for. Do not self-medicate. The dose and duration of the treatment will be decided by your doctor after some investigations like blood tests, ultrasonography, etc. Always take the medicine at the same time everyday to avoid missing a dose. Swallow it whole, without breaking or chewing, preferably with a glass of water. Continue taking it for the duration advised by your doctor to get the most benefits.

However, Drogyna Tablet has some side effects like headache, nausea, and breast pain. It may also cause bleeding or spotting in between menstrual periods. Do not worry or panic. Ask your doctor about how to deal with these and what you can do to prevent them. If they still do not get better, or worsen, consult your doctor on further course of action.

You should always discuss any previous medical history like diabetes, depression, heart or liver disease, with the doctor before starting treatment with Drogyna Tablet. Also, if you have been taking any other medicines regularly, make sure to notify your doctor about them too. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Drogyna Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Drogyna Tablet contains progestin (female hormone) that plays a major role in regulating the menstrual cycles in females. It initiates the normal, regular growth as well as shedding of the womb lining. This helps induce regular periods in women who have menstrual irregularities due to lack of progesterone. Moreover, it relieves painful or absent periods, facilitates egg implantation and thus, treats infertility.

If you miss a dose of Drogyna Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Drogyna Tablet is prescribed to treat a wide range of menstrual disorders and to maintain a healthy womb lining for the ongoing pregnancy.

It may also be used in women who have suffered repeated miscarriages.

Q. For how many days should Drogyna Tablet be taken?

Take the medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. The dose and duration of treatment depends on why you are being prescribed Drogyna Tablet and your response to the treatment. You may take it with or without food, preferably at the same time of each day.

Q. What is Drogyna Tablet used for?

Drogyna Tablet is used to relieve the symptoms of endometriosis (a problem caused by growth of the womb lining outside the womb) and treat infertility due to low levels of progesterone. It also relieves painful periods, controls irregular periods (that come at the wrong time or not at all) and resolves the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Additionally, it restarts periods that have stopped before the menopause (amenorrhoea) and also helps to stop or prevent unusually heavy or long periods (often due to the start of the menopause).

Q. What are the side effects of Drogyna Tablet during pregnancy?

Drogyna Tablet may cause an increased risk of hypospadias which is a birth defect of the penis involving the urinary opening. This occurs in children whose mothers have taken certain progestogens. However, the chance of developing this increased risk is not yet certain. So far, there is no evidence that taking Drogyna Tablet during pregnancy is harmful. Discuss with your doctor the risks and benefits of taking Drogyna Tablet during pregnancy.

Drogyna Tablet is a man-made version of progesterone, the natural female sex hormone. It is used in conditions when your body does not produce enough progesterone.

Q. Is Drogyna Tablet good to prevent a miscarriage?

Drogyna Tablet is used to prevent habitual abortion (miscarriage) and possible cases of abortion that may be occurring due to lack of the hormone progesterone. If the reason behind the miscarriage is due to this deficiency, Drogyna Tablet can definitely prevent a miscarriage. However, Drogyna Tablet should never be taken without consulting a doctor. It is advised that you should follow the instructions of your doctor carefully to make sure it works best for you.

Q. Who should not take Drogyna Tablet?

You should not take Drogyna Tablet if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to it, have a tumor that is made worse by progestins (such as meningioma) or if you have irregular or unusually heavy periods with an unknown cause.

Q. What if I forget a dose?

If you forget to take today’s tablet and it is less than 12 hours late, take it as soon as you remember. Continue taking the next scheduled tablet at the normal time. But, if it is more than 12 hours since you should have taken your tablet, miss this tablet out and continue the medication as prescribed. Remember not to take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Missing a tablet may cause irregular bleeding or spotting.

Drogyna Tablet may cause breast pain as a side effect. However, a thorough breast examination is recommended before starting treatment with Drogyna Tablet. Also, if you notice any breast related changes, like, any lumps, change in fullness, breast heaviness, etc., talk to your doctor about it.
