Dytor 10 Tablet

Dytor 10 Tablet helps your body get rid of extra water and salt through urine. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines as per the dose advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day. It is best to avoid taking this medicine within 4 hours of your bedtime to prevent having to get up at night to urinate.

It is important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. If you stop taking it without consulting your doctor, your condition may worsen. Lifestyle changes like reducing stress, restricting salt intake, and stopping smoking may help this medication work better.

Common side effects of this medicine include headache, dizziness, dehydration, decreased blood pressure, and stomach upset. These are usually mild and disappear after a short time. Consult your doctor if they bother you or do not go away.

Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any liver problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolyte levels is important while using this medicine. It may reduce the potassium level in your blood so your doctor may ask you to add potassium-rich foods to your diet (such as bananas, coconut water, etc.) or prescribe supplements.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dytor 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Dytor 10 Tablet is a diuretic. It removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body by increasing the amount of urine produced.

If you miss a dose of Dytor 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid getting up at night to urinate.

Monitor your blood pressure after starting Dytor 10 Tablet, and notify your doctor if it does not lower down.

Consult your doctor if you experience dizziness, tiredness, or muscle weakness that does not go away.

Take potassium supplements or potassium-rich diet (banana, spinach, coconut water, etc.) as Dytor 10 Tablet can decrease your potassium levels and lead to dehydration.

You may be asked to get regular blood tests done to monitor your kidney function.

Q. Does Dytor 10 Tablet raise blood sugar?

Yes, Dytor 10 Tablet may raise blood sugar levels causing hyperglycemia. Hence, it is important to keep a track of your blood glucose levels during treatment with Dytor 10 Tablet.

Q. What are the side effects of Dytor 10 Tablet?

The common side effects of Dytor 10 Tablet include headache, dizziness, dehydration, constipation, decreased blood pressure and stomach upset. Some of the serious side effects of Dytor 10 Tablet include dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, rapid or excessive weight loss, vomiting blood, chest pain, difficulty breathing or swallowing, blisters or peeling skin, hives, rash, and itching. Consult your doctor immediately if you notice any such symptoms.

Q. Does Dytor 10 Tablet increase creatinine?

Yes, Dytor 10 Tablet may cause a mild increase in creatinine values depending on the dose you are taking. These increased creatinine levels may increase slightly more when this medicine is used for long term. However, with discontinuation of the treatment, these levels return to their base value.

Q. Does Dytor 10 Tablet cause loss of potassium?

Dytor 10 Tablet may not cause direct potassium loss. But, in some cases, its use may cause excess loss of water which may lead to dehydration. This, as a result, may cause loss of potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium.

Q. My blood pressure is controlled now. Can I stop taking Dytor 10 Tablet?

Do not stop taking Dytor 10 Tablet without talking to your doctor. Stopping the medicine may not overshoot your blood pressure levels but may make your condition as it was before treatment. Therefore, discuss this with your doctor who will advise you to change the medicine or the dosage as per your requirement.

Q. How should Dytor 10 Tablet be taken?

Take Dytor 10 Tablet exactly as advised by your doctor. Generally, it is recommended to take Dytor 10 Tablet once daily preferably at the same time each day. Dytor 10 Tablet is known to cause excess urination, and hence it is advised to take it in the morning.

Q. Is Dytor 10 Tablet stronger than furosemide?

Both Dytor 10 Tablet and furosemide are almost similar in terms of safety and effectiveness. The only difference is that Dytor 10 Tablet has a longer duration of action in comparison to furosemide but the effect of both starts within an hour of intake.

Q. How long does it take for Dytor 10 Tablet to show its effects?

Dytor 10 Tablet starts acting within an hour of taking it orally and its effect lasts for about 6-8 hours when given orally.

Pregnancy:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Dytor 10 Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Dytor 10 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving:UNSAFE

Dytor 10 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Dytor 10 Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Dytor 10 Tablet is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease as the use of Dytor 10 Tablet should be avoided in case you are unable to pass urine or the kidney damage is due to some medicines.

Liver:CAUTION

Dytor 10 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Dytor 10 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
