Endonik-H 2mg Tablet is a female sex hormone (estrogen). This is a type of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that is used to treat symptoms associated with menopause (hot flushes, vaginal dryness, and itching), estrogen deficiency, and thinning of bones (osteoporosis).

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet is to be swallowed with water. It can be taken with or without food, but remember to take it at a fixed time each day for better efficacy. The dose and duration will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your symptoms. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. Do not skip any dose and finish the full course of treatment. The treatment should not be stopped abruptly without consulting your doctor as this may affect the potency of this medicine.

The most common side effects of this HRT are headaches, breast pain, irregular vaginal bleeding or spotting, abdominal cramps or bloating, nausea, vomiting, and hair loss. Some of the warning signs and symptoms that need immediate medical attention are breast lumps, unusual vaginal bleeding, dizziness and faintness, severe headaches, chest pain, shortness of breath, pains in your legs, etc.

Before taking this medicine, it is important to tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines for the same disease or other diseases. Before you initiate with this HRT, you must consult the doctor if you have a history of unexplained vaginal bleeding or if you have ever had a blood clot in your legs or your lungs. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should tell your doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may suggest you some diagnostic or laboratory tests to know the effects and side effects of this medicine on your body.

Hormone replacement therapy

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Endonik-H 2mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet contains a medication called estrogen (female sex hormone). It works by replacing estrogen that is normally produced by the body. In women who are undergoing or have attained menopause, it prevents symptoms such as hot flushes, vaginal burning, dryness, and itching, caused due to lack of estrogen.

Q: What if you forget to take this medicine?
A:

You have been prescribed Endonik-H 2mg Tablet as a part of hormone replacement therapy to relieve symptoms of menopause.

It may also be used for preventing osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who are at high risk of fractures.

Take it at the same time everyday to help you remember to take it.

Inform your doctor if you experience any unusual vaginal bleeding or spotting, abnormal vaginal discharge or vaginal discomfort while taking Endonik-H 2mg Tablet.

It may increase the risk of breast cancer. Have regular breast examinations.

Stop taking this medicine and inform your doctor immediately if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, or changes in vision. These could be symptoms of a blood clot in a vein.

Q. What is Endonik-H 2mg Tablet and what is it used for?

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet contains Estradiol, which is an estrogen hormone. It helps in treating estrogen deficiency symptoms like hot flushes (red and warm face) and vaginal dryness in women. It is also used to prevent osteoporosis (thinning and weakening of bones) in postmenopausal women, who are at high risk of fractures and have limited treatment choice.

Q. What if I miss a dose of Endonik-H 2mg Tablet?

If you miss a dose, you should take it as soon as possible. If the dose was missed by more than 12 hours, you should not take the missed dose and simply continue the usual dosing schedule.

Q. What are the most common side effects which I may experience while taking Endonik-H 2mg Tablet?

The common side effects associated with Endonik-H 2mg Tablet are lower abdominal pain, periods pain, breast tenderness, endometrial hyperplasia (thickening of uterus lining) and vaginal discharge. Most of these symptoms are temporary. However, if these persist, check with your doctor as soon as possible.

For estrogen deficiency, treatment is based on the underlying cause. Your doctor may choose from a variety of medications depending upon your age and clinical conditions. The medications will also depend upon whether you are estrogen deficient or have high progesterone levels.

Q. Who should not take Endonik-H 2mg Tablet?

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet should not be taken by patients who have unusual vaginal bleeding, liver problems, or bleeding disorder. It should also be avoided to patients who are pregnant or are allergic to Endonik-H 2mg Tablet. Patients who have had uterus or breast cancer, had a stroke or heart attack, or currently have or had blood clots should also avoid this medicine.

Q. Does Endonik-H 2mg Tablet cause weight gain?

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet may cause either weight gain or weight loss. This is a common side effect of Endonik-H 2mg Tablet. However, exercising regularly and eating a healthy nutritious diet can help you prevent weight gain. In case you notice weight gain and it bothers you, consult your doctor.

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet tablets should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with water. You can take it at any time of the day but take it at the same time each day.

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving:SAFE

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney:CAUTION

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Endonik-H 2mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:CAUTION

Endonik-H 2mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Endonik-H 2mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Endonik-H 2mg Tablet is not recommended in patients who previously had liver disease and the liver function tests are still not normal and should not be given to women with severe hepatic disease.
