Falciden Kit

Falciden Kit is a prescription medicine. It is to be taken with food and take it at a fixed time regularly. Take the medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. A missed dose should be taken as soon as you remember. The course of the treatment should be completed for better efficacy.

While on this medicine, some people may experience weakness, nausea, headache, mouth sore, etc. as its side effects. Please consult your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration.

Before using it, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotics (especially sulpha medicines) or have any kidney or liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may monitor you with regular blood and urine tests during treatment.

Treatment of Malaria

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label before use. Falciden Kit is to be taken with food.

Falciden Kit is a combination of three medicines: Artesunate, Sulphadoxine and Pyrimethamine which treat malaria. Artesunate and Pyrimethamine are antiparasitic medicines which work by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading. Sulphadoxine is an antibiotic which stops the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication.

If you miss a dose of Falciden Kit, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Falciden Kit is prescribed for the treatment of malaria.

It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids and a healthy diet while taking the medicine.

It may cause dizziness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how the medicine affects you.

Falciden Kit should be taken with food or drinks enriched with fat such as milk.

Inform your doctor if you have anemia.

Inform your doctor if you notice flu-like symptoms such as chills, fever, muscle pains, and any changes in a heartbeat.

You may be asked for a regular blood test once a week while taking this medicine.

Falciden Kit is an antimalarial medicine and is used to treat malaria. It kills the infection-causing parasite and stops the further spread of the infection in the body. Falciden Kit may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Falciden Kit is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving:UNSAFE

Falciden Kit may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:CAUTION

Falciden Kit should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Falciden Kit may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:CAUTION

Falciden Kit should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Falciden Kit may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
