Flodart Tablet PR is an alpha-adrenergic antagonist that is used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. It helps to relieve symptoms like difficulty in passing urine. However, it does not decrease the size of the prostate.
Flodart Tablet PR is advised to take it in a dose and duration as per prescription. It should be taken with food, but take at the same time regularly. Use of this medicine can cause some common side effects such as dizziness, ejaculation disorder, and retrograde ejaculation. If any of the side effects persist or bother you, you must consult the doctor without delay.
Simple lifestyle changes can help you manage your symptoms better. Try to urinate as soon as you feel the urge, however, never strain or push to empty your bladder. You should avoid drinking caffeinated or alcoholic drinks at night and a few hours before going to bed or going out.
Before receiving the treatment, inform your doctor if you are on any medication for any other health condition. If you have to undergo eye surgery due to cataracts or glaucoma then inform your eye doctor about the usage of this medicine. Flodart Tablet PR is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing the muscles around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily. This helps empty the bladder completely and reduces the need to pass urine frequently or urgently in BPH.
06What If You Miss A Dose?
If you miss a dose of Flodart Tablet PR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

When your prostate gland becomes enlarged it can cause urinary problems such as difficulty passing urine and a need to go to the toilet frequently or urgently. It can also cause urine flow to be slower. If not treated, there is a risk that your urine flow will be completely blocked. Flodart Tablet PR works by relaxing muscles in the bladder and prostate. So, it can rapidly relieve the symptoms and make it easier for you to urinate. However, it may take up to 6 months to notice the full benefit. Flodart Tablet PR is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.Flodart Tablet PR is not indicated for use in women.
Driving:SAFE
Flodart Tablet PR does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Flodart Tablet PR is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Flodart Tablet PR is recommended.However, limited information is available on the use of Flodart Tablet PR in patients with end stage kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver:CAUTION
Flodart Tablet PR should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Flodart Tablet PR may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
10Drug Tips
Flodart Tablet PR helps in relieving the symptoms of enlarged prostate. It does not decrease the size of the prostate.
Flodart Tablet PR must be taken with food.
You will feel better within hours or days of starting the treatment. Full effect is usually seen within 2 weeks.
Flodart Tablet PR may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
If you are scheduled to undergo an eye surgery due to cataract or glaucoma, inform your eye doctor about the usage of Flodart Tablet PR.
Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems.
