Fogum Gel

Fogum Gel is strictly advised for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Apply it only on the affected areas of the mouth. It should not be used in excess amount and also avoid swallowing it. In case of accidental contact with your eyes, immediately rinse it off with plenty of water.

This medicine is generally safe but it may cause bitter taste and lead to stainings of your teeth, thus avoid using it for a long duration. If you experience any allergic reactions following the use of the medicine, inform your doctor without delay.

Treatment of Mouth infection

This medicine is for external use only. Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.

Fogum Gel is a combination of two medicines: Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Metronidazole. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic and disinfectant. It works by binding to the surface of teeth, inner cheeks and gums. This kills the infectious microorganisms that cause gum disease, tartar and other mouth infections. Metronidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA.

If you miss a dose of Fogum Gel, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Fogum Gel is given for the treatment of mouth infection and its associated symptoms such as ulcers and swelling in the gums.

Avoid eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth just after using this medication.

Do not use Fogum Gel if you have deep oral ulcers or throat infections.

Stop using this medicine and inform your doctor if any irritation occurs.

If symptoms persist for more than seven days, consult your doctor.

Along with using Fogum Gel maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice daily with a soft bristle brush.

Have regular dental checkups at intervals recommended by your dentist (this is normally at least once a year).

Q. Can the use of Fogum Gel cause bitter taste?

Yes, Fogum Gel contains metronidazole which is known to cause bitter taste. However, the bitter taste is temporary and resolves once you stop using this medicine.

Q. What are the instructions for storage and disposal of Fogum Gel?

Keep this medicine in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.

In Treatment of Mouth infection

It also makes teeth stronger and prevents dental cavities. This medicine helps restore your self-confidence and makes you feel better. Practice good oral hygiene like brushing twice daily and rinsing with antiseptic mouth wash 2-3 times a day to avoid mouth infections in the future.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
