Impulog Tablet

Impulog Tablet is taken by mouth with or without food. But it is important to take it in a dose and duration as advised by doctor. It is best if taken along with a low-protein diet as it helps in delaying the progression of kidney diseases and dialysis initiation. Ensure that you maintain adequate calorie intake during the therapy. While you are taking this medicine, your doctor may advice for regular monitoring of serum calcium levels.

It is usually well tolerated with little or no side effects.

Treatment of Chronic kidney disease

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Impulog Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Impulog Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called nutritional supplements. It follows same catabolic pathways as amino acids and works by improving the metabolism of protein in the body, thereby improving the renal function.

If you miss a dose of Impulog Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Impulog Tablet is a combination of various essential amino acids. It is mostly used in the prevention and treatment of damages due to faulty or deficient protein metabolism in chronic kidney disease. On the other hand, Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate is a combination of the essential amino acid arginine and alpha-ketoglutaric acid. Although both Impulog Tablet and Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate are different, their uses are almost similar.

The usual advice for an adult is to take the tablets during meals as it helps in proper absorption or usage of the amino acids. The tablets must not be chewed. Impulog Tablet should be given along with dietary protein restriction in cases of kidney failure. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the kidney problem.
