Infanrix Injection is a combination of three vaccines used to prevent Diphtheria and Tetanus, and whooping cough. It stimulates the immune system to act against microorganisms to prevent such infections.
Infanrix Injection is to be administered by a healthcare professional. It may cause redness, pain, and swelling at the site of injection. However, this is temporary and usually resolves on its own. Do not skip any doses and follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get maximum benefit.
It is generally safe to use with minimal side effects. However, it may cause a few side effects such as fever, vomiting, headache, etc. Please consult your doctor if these do not subside or bother you. Your doctor will suggest ways to cope up with the side effects.
Before taking it, inform your doctor if you have any preexisting medical conditions. Let your doctor also know about all the medicines you are taking to make sure it is safe for you. It is generally considered safe to use in patients with liver and kidney problems, however, let your doctor know if you have any problems with kidneys, liver, or heart.

In Tetanus
Tetanus is a serious bacterial infection that affects the nervous system and causes muscles throughout the body to become stiff and tighten. Infanrix Injection helps prevent tetanus infection. It helps the immune system to produce antibodies to fight against tetanus infection. However, it does not provide lifelong protection.
In Diphtheria
Diphtheria is a bacterial infection that causes pain and swelling in the throat. This might cause difficulty in breathing. It might also damage the heart, kidneys and nerves. Infanrix Injection gives protection against diphtheria. It is advisable to consult your doctor for complete information regarding vaccination schedules.
In Pertussis
Pertussis (often called whooping cough) is an infection of the airways that can occur at any age but mostly affects infants and young children. It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Infanrix Injection. Please consult your doctor.
Pregnancy:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Infanrix Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Infanrix Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
It is not known whether Infanrix Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Infanrix Injection is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Infanrix Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Infanrix Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Infanrix Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
10Drug Tips
Infanrix Injection is used for active booster immunization against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis in individuals aged 10 years and older.
You can still receive the Boostrix vaccine if you have a minor cold. In the case of a more severe illness with a fever or any type of infection, wait until complete recovery.
You can apply an ice pack on the injection site if you experience pain and redness.
