Kabifungin 50 Injection is given as a slow drip into vein (IV infusion) under the supervision of a doctor.

Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop abdominal pain, loss of appetite, darkened urine or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Kabifungin 50 Injection should be administered as an injection into a vein under the supervision of a trained healthcare professional or a doctor only usually once a day. It should be injected slowly over 1 hour and should not be self-administered. The dose will depend on the condition you are being treated for and will be decided by your doctor. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get maximum benefit from Kabifungin 50 Injection.

Q. What does Kabifungin 50 Injection target?

Kabifungin 50 Injection targets an essential component of the outermost layer (cell wall) of the fungus, called beta-(1,3)-D-glucan. This component is present in the Aspergillus species and Candida species but not present in mammalian cells. Kabifungin 50 Injection stops the synthesis of this component and this kills the fungus, inhibits further growth, thereby clearing the infection.

Kabifungin 50 Injection is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Kabifungin 50 Injection too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.

In Severe fungal infections

Kabifungin 50 Injection works by killing the fungi which can cause serious infections. It is given by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered. It usually makes you feel better very quickly but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all the fungi and yeast causing the infection are killed and do not become resistant.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Breast feeding:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Kabifungin 50 Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

It is not known whether Kabifungin 50 Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Kabifungin 50 Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Kabifungin 50 Injection is recommended.

Liver:CAUTION

Kabifungin 50 Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Kabifungin 50 Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Kabifungin 50 Injection in patients with the severe liver disease.
