This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside ear.
05How It Works
OTO-SAP Ear Drop is a combination of four medicines: Lidocaine, Clotrimazole, Beclometasone and Ofloxacin. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain to decrease pain sensationin the ear. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi while Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing. This treats your ear infection. Beclometasone is a steroid. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the ear red, swollen and itchy.

If you miss a dose of OTO-SAP Ear Drop, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

It works by killing and stopping the growth of infection-causing microorganisms, thereby clearing the infection. Therefore this medicine relieves the inflammation due to these infections.You should use this medicine for as long as it is prescribed, even if your symptoms disappear, otherwise they may come back. Depending on the type of infection you are treating, this may be several weeks. Even after your infection is completely cured, you may have to use it occasionally to prevent the symptoms from returning.
