Chlorbutol is a preservative. Turpentine Oil causes warmth and redness which can help relieve pain in the ear. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases sensation of pain.
If you miss a dose of Otoid Ear Drop, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

The best time to use this medicine is before you go to bed.
Put drops in the ear without touching the dropper to the ear. Stay on the side for 2 minutes or put a cotton plug in the ear.
To make sure that the right amount of medication is given, and to avoid touching the ear with the dropper, have another person give the drops if possible.
Never put cotton bud or anything else in your ear to try and clear the wax yourself.
Make sure not to use the open bottle for more than 4 weeks.
