Otorest Ear Drop

Otorest Ear Drop is to be used as per the label instructions or as suggested by your doctor. This medicine must be applied only to the affected ear. Use it regularly to get the most benefit. The course of the medicine should be completed even if you feel better. You must wash your hands before administering the medicine. Do not use it more than the recommended dose.

Generally, this is a safe medicine. However, it may cause mild and temporary irritation in the ear. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worry you. If you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must seek immediate medical help.

Before using it, tell your doctor if you have an underlying disease or are taking medicines for any health condition. The medicines that are used externally usually do not get affected by other medicines, however, you should let your doctor know if you are taking any medicines to ensure safety. Ask your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.  If you are a known allergic to the medicine, you must refrain from using this medicine and consult the doctor.

Treatment of Ear infection

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside ear.

Otorest Ear Drop is a combination of four medicines: Lidocaine, Clotrimazole, Beclometasone and Ofloxacin. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain to decrease pain sensationin the ear. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi while Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing. This treats your ear infection. Beclometasone is a steroid. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the ear red, swollen and itchy.

If you miss a dose of Otorest Ear Drop, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Do not touch the tip of the dropper, or of your ear to prevent contamination.

In Treatment of Ear infection

Otorest Ear Drop is a combination of medicines used to treat ear infections caused by microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. It works by killing and stopping the growth of infection-causing microorganisms, thereby clearing the infection. It also blocks the release of chemicals that cause symptoms such as itching, redness, swelling, and ear discharge. Therefore this medicine relieves the inflammation due to these infections.You should use this medicine for as long as it is prescribed, even if your symptoms disappear, otherwise they may come back. Depending on the type of infection you are treating, this may be several weeks. Even after your infection is completely cured, you may have to use it occasionally to prevent the symptoms from returning.
