Zuvatan 50 Tablet is a medicine used to treat heart failure. It reduces the risk of hospitalization and death in patients with long-lasting (chronic) heart failure. It is generally given along with other heart failure medications.

Zuvatan 50 Tablet may be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day for maximum benefits. Your doctor will decide the dose and how often you take it, and it may change depending on how well you respond to the medicine. Keep taking the tablets regularly, as prescribed, and try not to miss doses to get the most benefit. Do not stop taking them, even if you are feeling well. The medicine prevents future complications.

Common side effects of this medicine include low blood pressure (hypotension), impaired renal function, high potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia), cough, and dizziness. To reduce the risk of dizziness that may be caused by low blood pressure, try getting up slowly from a sitting or lying position. Tell your doctor if these or other side effects are severe or do not go away.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are taking any other medication for blood pressure or heart conditions, or if you have kidney or liver disease. Also, let your doctor know all other medications you are using, as they may affect, or be affected by, this medicine. This medicine should not be taken during pregnancy and is not recommended while breastfeeding. While on treatment with this medicine, your doctor may advise regular monitoring of blood pressure and kidney function.

Treatment of Heart Failure

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zuvatan 50 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Zuvatan 50 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: sacubitril and valsartan, which belong to a class of angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitors (ARNI). This combination treats heart failure by relaxing the blood vessels and making it easier for your heart to pump blood throughout your body. In addition, it also helps your body retain less water.

Q: What if you forget to take Zuvatan Tablet?
A: If you miss a dose of Zuvatan 50 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

While taking Zuvatan 50 Tablet, you should continue to be active (light walking, stretching) and eat a healthy, low-sodium diet.

To reduce the chances of feeling dizzy, rise slowly if sitting or lying down.

Zuvatan 50 Tablet may raise the level of potassium in your blood. Avoid taking potassium supplements and eating potassium-rich foods such as bananas and broccoli.

Inform your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney diseases.

Do not take Zuvatan 50 Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Q. Who should avoid taking Zuvatan 50 Tablet?

Patients who are allergic to any of its components should avoid Zuvatan 50 Tablet. Those who are allergic to the use of ACE inhibitors or ARBs should also avoid using this medicine. It should not be used along with other antihypertensive medicines. Do not take it for at least 36 hours before or after you take an ACE inhibitor medicine. If you are not sure, consult your doctor.

Q. What should I tell my doctor before taking Zuvatan 50 Tablet?

Tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions, including liver or kidney disease and a history of facial swelling (angioedema). Inform him if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Also, inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking, especially potassium supplements or medicine salt, painkillers, blood pressure, or heart failure medicines (such as ACE inhibitors, ARBs, or Aliskiren).

Q. Can I use Zuvatan 50 Tablet in pregnancy?

No, Zuvatan 50 Tablet should be avoided in pregnancy. Its use can cause injury or even endanger the life of the baby. If you become pregnant while using Zuvatan 50 Tablet, stop using it and contact your doctor immediately.

Q. How would I know if I have high potassium levels?

Your doctor will check your blood potassium levels periodically to detect high potassium levels (hyperkalemia). Make sure that you do not miss any scheduled appointments with the doctor.

In Treatment of Heart Failure

Heart failure means your heart is weak and cannot pump enough blood to your lungs and the rest of your body. The most common symptoms are breathlessness, tiredness, and swelling in your legs, ankles, abdomen, and other body parts. Zuvatan 50 Tablet is a combination of two medicines, namely valsartan and sacubitril. Both of these medicines work in different ways to lower blood pressure. This makes it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body and is, therefore, an effective treatment for heart failure. This medicine will help relieve your symptoms, making you feel better and more energetic. To help this medicine be effective, you should make appropriate lifestyle changes (such as eating healthily and staying active). Take it regularly and keep taking it even if you feel better.

It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Zuvatan 50 Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Zuvatan 50 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Zuvatan 50 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

It is not known whether Zuvatan 50 Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney:CAUTION

Zuvatan 50 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Zuvatan 50 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended. No dose adjustment is needed in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.

Liver:CAUTION

Zuvatan 50 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Zuvatan 50 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.However, no dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild liver disease. Zuvatan 50 Tablet is contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease.
