AB Pas N Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are vomiting, heartburn, stomach upset, rash, itching, breathing difficulty, and nasal inflammation. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as that may cause excessive drowsiness.

Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. Before you start taking this medicine it is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

AB Pas N Tablet is a combination of two medicines : Acebrophylline and Acetylcysteine. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic and bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and also thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to breathe. Acetylcysteine is a mucolytic medication. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out.

If you miss a dose of AB Pas N Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

AB Pas N Tablet helps in the prevention and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

It has a smelly odor. This is normal and does not indicate that the medicine has changed.

It should be taken at the same time each day, preferably in the evening after food.

Drink plenty of fluids to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.

It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty in breathing.

Your doctor may ask you to take regular blood tests to monitor the level of drug in your body to make sure that you are taking the right dose.

Notify your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney, liver, or heart disease, or if have a smoking history. Your dose may need to be adjusted.

Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor even if you feel better.

Yes, AB Pas N Tablet contains Acetylcysteine which may interfere with laboratory tests like urine ketone test and may cause false test results. Inform your doctor if you are taking AB Pas N Tablet before taking any tests.

No, taking more of this medicine will not make it more effective, rather it can lead to increased side effects. If symptoms are not getting relieved by the recommended doses, please consult the doctor for re-evaluation.
