Abevia-N Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, headache, and dizziness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as that may cause excessive drowsiness.
Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. Before you start taking this medicine it is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

04How To Use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Abevia-N Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
05How It Works
Abevia-N Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Acebrophylline and Acetylcysteine. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic and bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and also thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to breathe. Acetylcysteine is a mucolytic medication. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.

Q: What if you forget to take Abevia-N Tablet?
A: If you miss a dose of Abevia-N Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

10Drug Tips
Abevia-N Tablet helps prevent and treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, bronchitis, and pulmonary complications of cystic fibrosis.
It has a smelly odor. This is normal and does not indicate that the medicine has changed.
It should be taken at the same time each day, preferably in the evening after food.
Drink plenty of fluids to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while taking this medication.
It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Instead, use your rescue inhaler to control sudden breathing difficulties.
Your doctor may ask you to take regular blood tests to monitor the level of the drug in your body to ensure that you are taking the correct dose.
Notify your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney, liver, or heart disease or if you have a smoking history. Your dose may need to be adjusted.
Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.
