Agonin 25mg Tablet helps treat depression. It reduces and gradually eliminates the symptoms of depression such as deep sadness, feelings of worthlessness, loss of interest in activities, sleep disturbances, tiredness, feelings of anxiety, and weight changes.
Agonin 25mg Tablet may be taken with or without food preferably at bedtime. However, it is advised to take it at a fixed time each day to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the blood. If you have missed any doses, take it as soon as you remember and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.Some common side effects of this medicine include headache, nausea, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), and back pain. Other side effects that may also be observed are stomach pain, changes in body weight, diarrhea, and increased liver enzymes. However, these are temporary and usually resolve on their own in some time. Please consult your doctor if these do not subside or worry you. It even causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.Before taking this medicine, please tell your doctor if you suffer from any liver problems or diabetes. If you have been taking this medicine for a long time, regular monitoring of blood and liver functions may be required. Be vigilant about unusual darkening or any changes in the color of your urine, light-colored stools, yellowing of skin or eyes, pain in the upper right part of your stomach, and unusual fatigue as this could be signs of liver problems.It is important to inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Agonin 25mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Agonin 25mg Tablet is a melatonin agonist. It works by resynchronizing the sleep-wake cycle that is disturbed in depression.
06What If You Miss A Dose?
If you miss a dose of Agonin 25mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Driving:UNSAFE
Agonin 25mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Agonin 25mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Agonin 25mg Tablet is recommended.However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver:UNSAFE
Agonin 25mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

It may take a few weeks for this medicine to start working. Keep taking it as prescribed.
It should be taken at bedtime.
