This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension is a steroid. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that make the eye red, swollen and itchy.

In Treatment of Redness and swelling in the eye

Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension helps relieve symptoms such as pain, redness, swelling, itching and watering of eyes due to an infection, allergy or even after an operation of the eyes. This medicine works by decreasing the production of certain chemicals that cause inflammation of the eyes. This will make it easier for you to go about your daily activities. Use it as prescribed to get the most benefit. If you see no improvement even after a week, talk to your doctor.

In Treatment of Severe allergic reactions

Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension is a corticosteroid. In addition to the many other benefits, it can be used in the treatment of severe allergic reactions. This medicine works by reducing the inflammation associated with allergies. It is a highly effective medicine. Take it in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor to get most benefit from it.

In Treatment of Allergic conditions

Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. It can be used to treat a great many different inflammatory and allergic conditions including arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, ulcerative colitis which affect the skin, blood, eyes, lungs, stomach, and nervous system. It works by lowering your immune system’s response to these conditions thereby reducing symptoms such as swelling, pain, itching and other allergic-type reactions.This medicine is given orally (by mouth). You should always take it as it has been prescribed for you. Do not stop taking it without your doctor’s advice. This can cause unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Because this medicine weakens your immune system, you should avoid being near people who are ill or have infections.

In Prevention of Asthma

Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension works by reducing and preventing swelling and inflammation in your lungs. It is known as a “preventer” and is used to prevent the symptoms of asthma such as tightness in your chest, wheezing, breathlessness, and coughing. This means you can carry out your daily activities more easily and more confidently.It may take a few weeks for this medicine to show full effects. Keep taking it regularly as prescribed even if you do not have any symptoms (this means it is working). Do not stop taking it unless your doctor advises you to, otherwise, you are more likely to suffer from symptoms. This medicine will not stop an asthma attack that has already started.

In Treatment of Nephrotic syndrome

Nephrotic syndrome is a kidney disorder that causes your body to pass too much protein in your urine accompanied with excessive swelling over various parts of the body such as around the eyes and in the feet and ankles. Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension works by suppressing the immune system thereby reducing inflammation and swelling that occur in nephrotic syndrome. It reduces the protein in the urine and also helps in getting rid of the extra fluid, thereby relieving the swelling over different parts of the body. Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Driving:UNSAFE

Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Your doctor has prescribed Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension to treat redness and swelling (inflammation) of the eye. 

Do not use Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension for more than the prescribed duration as it may cause glaucoma or secondary infection. 

Do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contaminating the eye drops.

Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.

Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.

Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.

If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before putting in these eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting your lenses back in.

Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.

Side effects such as mood changes or stomach problems can happen when you start taking Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension. Inform your doctor if this bothers you.

Do not stop taking Aurofort Opthalmic Suspension suddenly without talking to your doctor first as it may worsen your symptoms.
