Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cospiaq Met 12.5mg/1000mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Cospiaq Met 12.5mg/1000mg Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Empagliflozin and Metformin. Empagliflozin works by removing excess glucose from your body through urine. Metformin works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin. Together, they lower blood glucose more effectively.

Q: What if you forget to take Cospiaq Met Tablet?
A: If you miss a dose of Cospiaq Met 12.5mg/1000mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

You should keep using it for as long as it is prescribed because it is protecting your future health.

Breast feeding:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Cospiaq Met 12.5mg/1000mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving:UNSAFE

Cospiaq Met 12.5mg/1000mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:UNSAFE

Cospiaq Met 12.5mg/1000mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with kidney disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:CAUTION

Cospiaq Met 12.5mg/1000mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cospiaq Met 12.5mg/1000mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

You have been prescribed this combination medicine as it can control blood sugar better than metformin alone.

It also reduces the risk of heart attack, heart failure or other cardiovascular events.

You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) along with Cospiaq Met 12.5mg/1000mg Tablet.

Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach.

Practice good genital hygiene to prevent yeast or urinary tract infections

It may cause your body to lose too much fluid (dehydration) or you to urinate more often. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.

It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly.

Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxious feeling.
