Methpred 1gm Injection is a steroid which works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies.

In Treatment of Severe allergic reactions

Methpred 1gm Injection is a corticosteroid. In addition to the many other benefits, it can be used in the treatment of severe allergic reactions. This medicine works by reducing the inflammation associated with allergies. It is a highly effective medicine. Take it in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor to get most benefit from it.

In Treatment of Allergic conditions

Methpred 1gm Injection prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. It can be used to treat a great many different inflammatory and allergic conditions including arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, ulcerative colitis which affect the skin, blood, eyes, lungs, stomach, and nervous system. It works by lowering your immune system’s response to these conditions thereby reducing symptoms such as swelling, pain, itching and other allergic-type reactions.This medicine is given orally (by mouth). You should always take it as it has been prescribed for you. Do not stop taking it without your doctor’s advice. This can cause unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Because this medicine weakens your immune system, you should avoid being near people who are ill or have infections.

In Prevention of Asthma

Methpred 1gm Injection works by reducing and preventing swelling and inflammation in your lungs. It is known as a “preventer” and is used to prevent the symptoms of asthma such as tightness in your chest, wheezing, breathlessness, and coughing. This means you can carry out your daily activities more easily and more confidently.It may take a few weeks for this medicine to show full effects. Keep taking it regularly as prescribed even if you do not have any symptoms (this means it is working). Do not stop taking it unless your doctor advises you to, otherwise, you are more likely to suffer from symptoms. This medicine will not stop an asthma attack that has already started.

In Treatment of Rheumatic disorder

This medicine works by decreasing the production of certain chemicals that cause inflammation of the eyes. This will make it easier for you to go about your daily activities. Use it as prescribed to get the most benefit. If you see no improvement even after a week, talk to your doctor.

In Treatment of Nephrotic syndrome

Nephrotic syndrome is a kidney disorder that causes your body to pass too much protein in your urine accompanied with excessive swelling over various parts of the body such as around the eyes and in the feet and ankles. Methpred 1gm Injection works by suppressing the immune system thereby reducing inflammation and swelling that occur in nephrotic syndrome. It reduces the protein in the urine and also helps in getting rid of the extra fluid, thereby relieving the swelling over different parts of the body. Pregnancy:CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Breast feeding:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Methpred 1gm Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Driving:UNSAFE

Methpred 1gm Injection may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Methpred 1gm Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Methpred 1gm Injection is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease as careful dose selection and regular monitoring of kidney function tests are advised while you are taking this medicine.

Liver:CAUTION

Methpred 1gm Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Methpred 1gm Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Methpred 1gm Injection helps treat inflammation, severe allergies, flare-ups of ongoing illnesses, and many other medical problems that require either reduction of inflammation or suppression of the immune system.

Do not use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.

Methpred 1gm Injection can make it harder for you to fight off infections. Notify your doctor if you have any signs of infection such as a fever or sore throat.

Side effects such as mood changes or stomach problems can happen when you start taking Methpred 1gm Injection. Inform your doctor if this bothers you.

Do not stop taking Methpred 1gm Injection suddenly without talking to your doctor first as it may worsen your symptoms.
